Overview
The VortexIQ is the model to buy if pet hair is the specific problem and you do not need to clean sofas and stairs. It keeps the two features that define the range — NeoSight green-light detection, which makes hair and fine dust visible on a floor, and the patented anti-tangle roller, which Levoit states eliminates hair wrap and clogs rather than merely reducing them.
It also keeps five-stage HEPA filtration, which is the meaningful difference between a vacuum that removes visible debris and one that also takes fine allergen particles out of the air rather than redistributing them through the exhaust. Runtime is up to 50 minutes, measured with the crevice tool.
What you give up against the Pro version is the mini motorized brush. That is the tool you would use on fabric — sofas, mattresses, stairs — and without it, this is a floor-and-hard-surface machine. If your pet sleeps on the couch, that omission is the deciding factor; if your pets shed onto hard floors, this is the better value.
